WrestleZone’s Top 10: What We Learned From Night of Champions

Number 7: Curtis Axel is a Great Wrestler, But…

Curtis Axel

He is not the right guy for Paul Heyman. I am not sure what it is about his character, but it seems like he tends to zone out at times when Heyman needs him to be mentally in the game. Axel has the skill in the ring. I wonder if his heel persona is the right persona for him. We all know his father and love that about him. Is it because he gets overshadowed by Heyman that he cannot be THAT guy? I think Axel can actually cut a promo and sound real. With his skill in the ring, he may be better suited as a face that uses his heritage. When I say that, I think of Ted DiBiase and his failures in the long run in WWE. Whatever WWE decides to do with him, he needs to be utilized to his fullest potential. He has not reached it yet.
