The Tag Team Division

WWE Raw ReactionBig Show and Rey Mysterio defeated Goldust and Cody Rhodes. I talked about how upset I was that Jimmy and Jey did not get a match for the titles a night before. The crowd "chooses" to see this match on Raw, pairing two crowd favorites. You knew that, without titles on the line, Show and Mysterio would walk away with the win. I was surprised to see Big Show actually work more of the match than Mysterio did. The match was booked well, with the champions trying to overcome the largest athlete in the company. Mysterio came in and cleaned up at the end, with a splash from the top of Big Show's shoulders. I do not mind them winning, but it seems like Cody and Goldust lose more often on Raw or Smackdown than most tag team champions should. Did The Shield really lose that much when holding the titles? They found ways to win. That is what they should do with Goldust and Cody. I do think the respect hand shake at the end of the match is necessary because neither of these teams want to look like heels.

Big E Langston and Mark Henry defeated The Real Americans. I felt like this match was really good because of the time they gave the young Langston. Much like Show, Langston was built to be the man to take most of the offense. Henry and Langston tagged in and out multiple times in the first five minutes of the match. The Real Americans did a great job at finally secluding Langston from his partner. The end came when Langston blind tagged himself in and hit a Big Ending on Cesaro. Good match with a predictable ending. I couldn't see Langston and Henry losing tonight. It hurts the steam of Cesaro and Swagger, but they can bounce back with a rematch win or a victory over another team. They win one and lose one. That's how they are booked.

Grade: B

Rybaxel defeated Tons of Funk. This is the ultimate ending for Tons of Funk. Brodus Clay lets Tensai take the beating and does not get tagged in. Ryback hits Shell Shock and picks up the win for his team. Brodus Clay attacks Tensai and leaves everyone behind. R-Truth and Xavier Woods get in the ring and dance with Naomi and Cameron. So, WWE loves to pair the dancers up with whoever wants to dance? It does not matter that Tensai is laying on the outside beaten up. Well, okay then! Neither of these teams are in the top three of the division for me. It was a mediocre match that focused on Brodus' heel turn.
