Title This: WWE Raw Reaction “Extreme Rules Card is Set”

Stephanie McMahon Apologizes to Daniel Bryan

wwe raw reactionStephanie McMahon comes out and apologizes to Daniel Bryan. She ends up booking a match between Brie Bella and Paige. During the match, Kane's music hits and comes through the ring. She fends off Bryan and grabs Brie's leg. Bryan gets back in the ring and hits Kane with a wrench. Kane gets back up and hits a chokeslam onto Daniel Bryan. Brie, for some reason, gets back into the ring. Brie almost gets dragged into the ring by Kane.

A pretty solid segment that ended in intrigue. I really think this Kane is excellent. How much more important and interesting is he with the mask back on? I find it funny that nobody could care about him as a corporate figure, but the mask gives him relevance and importance. The addition of Brie into the story gives a sense of realism and personal conflict. It hasn't been the best feud, but it is certainly one that can build from this PPV to the next, if WWE wants them to.

Bad News Barrett Moves on

WWE gives Barrett the chance to face Big E at Extreme Rules. I loved this booking decision for Barrett. RVD does not need a championship to be relevant because he is going to be in a match with higher profile because of his track record. He is an act that gets over based on what he has already done. Barrett puts on a great match for the third consecutive week. I will be the first to say that this is Barrett's best ring work since his matches with Randy Orton a few years ago on Smackdown. His character is shining bright and it looks like he could wind up winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship sooner rather than later. Will WWE let Big E drop it on Sunday? I would rather see a longer feud with time invested in both of their young personas first.

The Shield vs. Evolution Continues To Intrigue

Ric Flair comes out and talks about how he sees something in these guys, but actually talks about The Shield. Evolution looks upset and we get Randy Orton and Roman Reigns as our main event. The match was nothing too amazing because WWE did not want to blow their wad on this singles match a week before Extreme Rules. Evolution gets involved and looks to be dominating The Shield to end Raw. The Shield comes back to rally and Reigns spears Triple H. They try to hit a Triple Powerbomb, but The Game escapes…barely.

I thought the ending was good, but not great. I felt like the addition of Ric Flair did absolutely nothing. It fell flat and people did not care after he came out.

Save the action for Sunday. That is what WWE did and it was a smart decision. They gave us a taste, but they did not let The Shield get the Triple Powerbomb onto Triple H, which is what everyone wants to see.
