I Don’t Get It

roman reignsRoman Reigns puts his WrestleMania title shot on the line vs. Daniel Bryan at WWE Fast Lane, and they won’t beat Reigns. Reigns is still the chosen one, and if that’s WWE’s long-term plan, they can’t be blamed for sticking to it. If you want long-term booking, this is it. Don’t bitch because it doesn’t provide the result you want.

But given that Reigns’ push puts each and every WWE show at the risk of fan mutiny, why would you have him go through Bryan, the people’s choice, on the way to WrestleMania, the show where backlash by the marks would be most embarrassing?

Let’s pause now to NOT play the “what if?” game. Reigns and Lesnar won’t do a double turn between now and ‘Mania. Perhaps they should, but they definitely won’t. Reigns will win the title at ‘Mania and become babyface world champ, as WWE prefers.

If Reigns ever does turn, he won’t be out there with Paul Heyman. He’ll be out there with Chyna Jr. and Triple H. Only Lesnar’s long and legit personal relationship with Heyman has him out there with Paul E., and not the power couple.

I don’t get Reigns vs. Bryan. It seems to exacerbate the reaction problem. WWE must be doing it for one of two reasons:

1) To shove it up your southernmost orifice.

2) To make Reigns a solitary, determined underdog. During the opening segment for the most recent Raw, Reigns was confronted by both the Authority and Bryan. You got the feeling that Reigns got ganged-up on, and he actually came off as a badass.
