Back to the Chicken Farm / Thoughts on Reigns Family Reaction to WrestleMania

MICKETY-MARKS

wwe european tourWhen I heard Roman Reigns’ family nearly “ran amok” at ‘Mania because Reigns didn’t get the title, I rolled my eyes so hard I sprained my forehead.

Reigns lost. So what? Get ‘em next time!

WWE did what the fans dictated. That’s how it’s supposed to be in wrestling, although maybe a bit less abruptly. The ‘Mania finish made perfect sense: Seth Rollins got the belt, Brock Lesnar didn’t lose, and Reigns was a prop, which is all he’d earned.

Reigns got a year-long push, and the fans didn’t buy it. Reigns got a rare opportunity, and the fans didn’t buy it. What’s so hard to understand?

Sika of the Wild Samoans is Reigns’ dad, and anyone would empathize with his disappointment. But if anyone should know the fickle nature of fake wrestling and Vince McMahon, it’s someone who worked in WWE for over a quarter-century.

Just goes to show: Being a stage-door father can turn anybody into a mark. Memo to Sika: Watch your son, and shut up. What happens is none of your business. Reigns will either get to the top someday, or he won’t. It’s not up to you.

The notion that Reigns’ family wanted him to quit is downright laughable. He can’t have a “WrestleMania moment” with TNA.
