Oba Femi is wasting no time setting his sights on the top of the mountain after a career-defining win at WrestleMania 42 Sunday.
Femi shocked the wrestling world by defeating Brock Lesnar in the opening match, powering through an F5 before planting “The Beast” with a chokeslam-powerbomb combination for the victory. The moment felt even bigger as Lesnar removed his gloves and boots afterward, a symbolic gesture widely interpreted as retirement.
Later in the night, Roman Reigns defeated CM Punk in the main event to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, setting the stage for a potential blockbuster clash.
Speaking on the WrestleMania 42 post-show, Femi reflected on his statement-making performance:
“Thank you very much. It feels amazing because it’s one thing to tell everybody what you are, and it’s another thing to show everybody exactly what you are. And that is what I did tonight. I took 25 years of history, I took 25 years of dominance from The Beast, and I made it mine. I am who I said I am. I am The Ruler, The Destroyer, The Bringer of War, Oba Femi.”
When asked about what’s next, the crowd erupted into “OTC” chants, referencing Reigns. Femi didn’t shy away from the moment, hinting that a collision could be on the horizon:
“I think tomorrow is a celebration. I think in the coming weeks, it’s the establishment of a true main event player. I think by the end of the year, the OTC can get some.”
Reigns later responded, telling Oba to see how he does through the summer, and then maybe they can square off.
