Isenberg Reacts: Impact Wrestling “Missed Opportunity on Magnus”

impact wrestling In their last night in TNA, Magnus and Mickie James picked up a win over James Storm and Serena. Two words: missed opportunity. When I look at Magnus, I see the total package. He looks more polished in the ring and more developed than half of their roster.

When Magnus was champion, it was more of a failure than a success because of the inconsistent booking. You can book cowardly heel champions and still make them look strong.

There was never that BIG moment where Magnus stood on his own. He was consumed with having to help everyone else get over with the crowd and that was never his fault. I have always enjoyed his work and still want to see more of Magnus. His potential is unlimited and TNA really dropped the ball with their inconstant book and lack of depth to be developed in his character.

Matt vs. Ethan

This gets me excited. Yes, maybe too excited, but there is a lot of potential in this feud for a variety of reasons. I spoke about it last week, talking about how Matt Hardy has completely changed him game from ROH to TNA, not in a bad way. This week, let’s chat about how good EC3 can be.

He has the look. He has the confidence. He has the in-ring ability to make others look good as well. What weakness does he possess? I can’t seem to find one flaw in his game right now. Matt Hardy will always be a popular character to the crowd due to his success outside of TNA. He has had incredible longevity, something I continue to be shocked by. His body has been put through hell, yet he continues to put on great bouts.

With the addition to Jeff, everyone will wonder if TNA wants to go for a brother vs. brother feud. If they do, let it happen months down the road. For the championship. The only way, and it is still a big IF, to supersede their classic encounter at WrestleMania 25 would be to have a world title on the line. The stages are different, but we can’t take away from what could be an excellent storyline between two legends.

For now, It is all about E…C…3. As it should be. Matt vs. EC3 should be a fun ride.

Currently, Josh Isenberg works for Major League Baseball in their Advanced Media Productions. He grew up in Pittsburgh and went to Point Park University, which is where Chair Shot Reality is filmed each week.

His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school. Some of his favorite wrestling moments can be linked to such superstars as Edge, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Great Khali.
