Isenberg Reacts: WWE Hell in a Cell “Finality Creates Fresh Feuds”

Kevin Owens vs. Ryback

wwe hell in a cellThe worst match of the night was actually one that I was surprised to see lack in intensity and power. The champion came out to a great pop, while the boos echoed for Ryback. The match seemed to come at a time where there needed to be a big spot or a big moment. It never really came in this match, with a pretty basic “made for Raw” championship match.

Was it Ryback’s fault? Possibly. Was it WWE’s fault because we still really didn’t get a big connection with this feud? More likely. I am not going to discredit the guys for competing tonight, but it was very average. Looking back at this match makes me remember why people turned on Ryback.

Without a personality and without a really developed feud, Ryback gets booked to hit a few moves and come off looking like a monster without much essence. This is one feud that I am happy with thinking it is finally over. On to the next one for Owens.

Seth Rollins Elevates Kane

The Demon Kane took on Seth Rollins in a match that not many people were talking about. Yes, we knew that there would be NO WAY Seth Rollins would finally drop the title to Kane. We also knew that this feud was just a transition to something better for Seth. Albeit a really good match, it was predictable.

Seth was taken down early and often, side suplex and body slams from Kane and a few big boots. Seth did not waste much time turning the tables, hitting some big moves and a sunset flip to the outside. He turned Kane around and hit a powerbomb onto the Spanish announce table. Kane comes back into the ring at the count of nine. Seth Rollins hits a big kick, a flying knee and then a Frog Splash. He puts him away with the Pedigree.

I really enjoyed this match because it was at the pace that Seth does best. He executed some moves that saw the crowd really get into it, but was not TOO much. With the intensity of Reigns/Wyatt, including tables breaking, they really needed to be careful to not do TOO much here.

Seth Rollins kept the pace and Kane kept up with the much younger and explosive wrestler. I was also surprised to see Rollins win clean, which made me very happy. No help, no problem for the champion and time to move onto a guy that we can realistically see beating him. I just do not know if Seth Rollins drops the title anytime soon, nor should he.
