Isenberg Reacts: WWE Hell in a Cell “Finality Creates Fresh Feuds”

The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar

wwe hell in a cellIt was a story that needed some sort of finality before both men could move on. Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker inside Hell in a Cell. It began with big blow after big blow, punches and shoulder blocks. Brock Lesnar would soon feel the wrath of The Undertaker by getting throw into the ring post and blood spewing out of his head. As both men get into the ring, a chair is introduced. The Undertaker tries to use it, but Lesnar hits a spinebuster. He follows up with some chair shot to Undertaker and then Brock is able to hit a German Suplex. The Undertaker uses the chair and connects with Brock’s throat, sending him to the mat. Back and forth they go, an F5 is hit and Undertaker kicks out at two.

Three German Suplexes and an F5 does not keep Undertaker down for three. Undertaker boots the steel ring steps away from Lesnar and applies Hell’s Gate. Brock Lesnar fights out with right hands to Undertaker and begins to rip the mat apart. The Undertaker hits a  chokeslam to Lesnar on the ply wood. Undertaker with a Tombstone to Lesnar, but he kicks out. Brock hits a low blow and follows with an F5 to pick up the win.

After the match The Wyatt Family shows up and attacks The Undertaker. Wyatt stomps on the Undertaker. Rowan, Harper and Strowman pick up the Undertaker and walk him up to the stage to close the show.

Every new beginning is some other’s beginnings end. Those words speak volumes to end WWE Hell in a Cell. First off, let’s break down the match.

It was perfectly physical. Undertaker and Brock kept it inside of the cell, told the story through their history. They battled and bled, much to the despite of Vince McMahon I am sure. It was needed, though. There needed to be visual evidence of this fight. The power moves from Lesnar were strong and safe. The Undertaker looked to be in healthy physical shape and brought his best. It was not the best match, or the best Hell in a Cell match of the night, but it was really good. I also loved that Brock Lesnar sold the match so well at the end. He stumbled, fell and barely walked away, which gives respect and credit to The Undertaker. Those little things make a clean loss for The Undertaker look that much better.

With The Wyatt Family coming out, I instantly thought that maybe The Undertaker will do something to join them. That would be a fresh idea, but maybe too illogical. He ends up being carried off, which shows me that The Wyatt Family will face off against The Undertaker and his teammates at Survivor Series. Who do you pick for his team and why? Also, The Wyatt Family would have to win, right? Don’t they NEED that? I find it amazing how Bray and The Undertaker both lose clean, but they are all we are talking about at the end of the night. That is the power of their characters.
