Isenberg Reacts: WWE Raw “A New Core of Stars Carrying Monday Nights”

Charlotte and Natalya did battle on Raw Monday night and put on one hell of a match. Like I previously mentioned, this would not be my first choice for Charlotte to feud with, but with so many things going on outside of the women’s picture, this could be for the best. Natalya is deserving and is over. She is not over like Becky, Paige or Sasha but does have a following of the general audience. She has whipped herself in the best shape I have seen from her, focusing more on speed and cardio than lifting and bulking up. As for this match, it was really good. The pacing was faster than usual Natalya matches and Charlotte is just an excellent athlete. Her moonsault is the prettiest moonsault I may have ever seen. With the help of her father, Charlotte retains.

WWE knows what to do to constantly make the fans boo her. Thanks, Ric.

AJ Styles vs. Sami Zayn

Hold your breath, IWC, because this really happened. AJ Styles vs. Zayn was great. In fact, it was exactly what most people want to see on a weekly basis. The definition of wrestling, skill, seed, execution and determination. Say what you want about Sami Zayn, but the guy can go with ANYONE. Can he be the new Daniel Bryan? A guy who seemingly wrestles with the best of them, but needs the wave of fans to continuously get booked in the right situation. With Kevin Owens kicked out of the building by Shane McMahon earlier in the night, it was great for everyone to focus on what he CAN do in the ring.

Styles ended the match with his finishing elbow. I love this finisher because it can be executed on anyone. It is not a liability and he always hits it spot on. It looks great and helps Styles utilize all pieces of his game. Whether it is off the ropes, on the mat or looking face to face, he gets it. He gets the science behind every move. Great match tonight and the potential to have more matches with these guys without giving us everything tonight.

Currently, Josh Isenberg works for Major League Baseball in their Advanced Media Productions. He grew up in Pittsburgh and went to Point Park University, which is where Chair Shot Reality is filmed each week.
His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school. Some of his favorite wrestling moments can be linked to such superstars as Edge, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Great Khali.
