Ax and Smash = Demolition

There was a reason why Demolition tag team was called this. Their brutality is something they quickly became known for, as they would destroy all other teams with ease. Ax and Smash, that made up Demolition, also used what could be called psychological warfare with them playing their trademark hardcore music at the start. Their manager Fuji was the one that made Demolition special. Mr. Fuji was himself a famous former professional wrestler that would often throw salt into his enemy’s eyes in order to aggravate them.

Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty = The Rockers

The Rockers, consisting of Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty weren’t a too powerful force in the ring, but they were, in fact, influential. They had quite a lot of charisma, which made them fan-favorites, to the point that many even protested when they were denied the title because of the ring malfunction, although they managed to defeat the Hart Foundation. What made this group influential is that, because of their breakup, Shawn Michaels became much more famous as the Heartbreak Kid. For a short while after that, Leif Cassidy replaced Shawn and they became the New Rockers.

Hawk and Animal = The Legion of Doom

The Legion of Doom is certainly one of the most famous and beloved tag teams in WWE history. Hawk and Animal were great performers and true fan-favorites. They were known for their opening theme and Hawk’s unique sentence: “Oh, what a rush!” On stage they performed with masked faces and their Doomsday Device, a maneuver that included one wrestler lifting up the other to perform the move.

Bret “the Hitman” Hart and Jim ”the Anvil” Neidhart = The Hart Foundation

The Hart Foundation, consisting of Bret “the Hitman” Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart was a champion team many times for a good reason. The two managed to combine perfect technical moves with raw strength. The team was managed by Jimmy Hart, also known as the Mouth of the South. In the team, it was Neidhart who terrified his opponents with his unique, great promos. Their trademark attack was the Pink and Black Attack, called that because of the colors of the wrestlers.

“The Road Dogg” Jesse James and “Bad Ass” Billy Gunn = The New Age Outlawz

Finally, probably the single greatest team in WWE history is The New Age Outlawz. The duo consisted of “The Road Dogg” Jesse James and “Bad Ass” Billy Gunn. They became famous after they joined Degeneration-X, but later formed the famous tag team. They were a danger both on and off the ring. James was the main presenter of the duo with his powerful promos and a trademark phrase saying “Öh, you didn’t know?” They belonged to the greatest WWE period called The Attitude Era.
