The Hardy Boyz, Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy, the TNA World Tag Team Champions, have set their sights on the WWE NXT Tag Team Titles.
Earlier this year, The Hardy Boyz shocked fans with an appearance on WWE NXT. They wrestled twice on the brand first against No Quarter Catch Crew and later at WWE NXT Roadblock. There, they defeated former champions Nathan Frazer and Axiom to successfully retain their TNA World Tag Team Titles.
Frazer and Axiom later dropped the NXT Tag Team Titles to Hank and Tank at Stand & Deliver in April. Now, months later, Matt made it clear that he and Jeff want to capture the NXT Tag Team Championships to add another milestone to their career.
Speaking on FOX 9 in the Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota area, Matt Hardy explained that The Hardy Boyz aim is to expand their legacy by winning their WWE NXT Tag Team Titles, and also talked about winning the main roster titles.
“I think too, man… When you talk about titles and us wanting to cement our legacy as one of the greatest tag teams of all time. I still think that, with this interesting partnership between TNA and WWE, I would love to see us mix it up and win some WWE Tag Team Titles again. You know, there are new versions of WWE Tag Titles up on the main roster.”
“There are those NXT Tag titles. You know, a couple of months back, we beat the NXT Tag Team Champions… And we never got a deserved shot. Talk about it. Yeah, we were out there with FrAxiom, and we beat them. 123, in the middle. So we would love to have a shot at those NXT titles too.”
