Ember Moon vs. Mandy Rose

Mandy Rose pushes Moon and gets shoved back before she hits a few punches. Moon stands to her feet and uses her kicking offense to get in control. She follows that with a springboard splash. Mandy Rose is able to kick out at two and then hits a running knee. Rose only gets a two count, so she applies a submission hold to the neck. Ember Moon is able to fight out of the submission hold after a minute and quickly rolls her up for a two count. Rose reverses Moon’s attempt at a headscissors and plants her face first. A mistake from Rose lets Moon hit her finisher and picks up the victory in a solid contest.

I feel like we saw some good things from Mandy Rose tonight and we did not get a squash match from Ember Moon. Even though we know who is going to win, it is nice to see the younger talent (or less pushed talent) get some exposure and experience on the offensive side. Ember Moon is going to get a quicker push to the top based on their lack of women to fight Asuka, but tonight was a solid bout between the two and Moon overcoming a bit of adversity.

Asuka Makes Quick Work

Liv Morgan got her shot against NXT Women’s Champion Asuka tonight and did not go too well for her. It was not a long match by any means and Asuka pretty much controlled the entire pacing, action and direction of it. This showed you how differing both women are currently in their careers. I am not saying Liv will not be something, but this match really had no reason to happen. Asuka is such a polished and timely woman in the ring, while Liv flies by the seat of her shorts at times. There needs to be more training from her and more consistency before we see her get in the ring with one of the best that WWE has to offer.
