Isenberg Reacts: WWE RAW “Strong at the Top, Weak at the Bottom”

The United States Championship and The Royal Rumble

royal-rumble

WWE RAW focused on an excellent Roman Reigns vs. Chris Jericho match for the United States Championship and some new men added to the Royal Rumble match. Why WWE did not go the logic route, letting Chris Jericho get hit by Kevin Owens so he could win the United States Championship is absolutely beyond me. It made perfect sense and gets the title around the waist of a Canadian. That would be great heat. It would have been perfect and helped Roman Reigns not suffer a clean loss.

The end of the night featured The Kevin Owens Show, including Goldberg, Paul Heyman, Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns. When everyone got their words in, Braun stepped into the ring. He would be Speared by Roman and Goldberg.

Now, I liked the match and the ending. I thought it was some of the better things we have seen from Goldberg, while putting emphasis on the young guys. I do enjoy what they are trying to accomplish, but I wanted something more out of tonight. This was a strong ending, but the show itself lacked real importance.

We were given the Last Man Standing match with some nice spots, as well as two shield members putting on a good match. Other than that, the rushed feel from segment to segment and the forced action in the ring from Cass, Rusev, Cruiserweights and women felt off. It did not make an impact and did not make me NEED to see how they develop these storylines 1-2 weeks from now. As a fan and journalist, I want the NEED to watch it. I did not get that tonight.
