Richard Holliday Is A Man Of Commitment, Building Momentum With ISPW

Richard Holliday is doing some great things in his return to pro wrestling.

WrestleZone spoke with Richard Holliday ahead of his appearance at ISPW 25 this weekend. Holliday will defend his ISPW Championship against Danny Morrison on the show.

Holliday returned to the ring this summer after finishing treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He announced he was in remission in April. Holliday has made ISPW one of his regular promotions, winning the company’s main championship in July. Now he will defend his title against former ECW star Danny Doring, aka Danny Morrison.

“ISPW is great. They don’t hold back, they have great events, sometimes twice a month. But every month, they’re definitely putting on a great show. Fans come out in droves to see ISPW, so it’s great to be the champion there. I do feel like I have put some momentum on the company as well. We’ve done some really good things with me as champion,” Holliday explained, “so getting in the ring with Danny is going to be interesting, right?

“He definitely has a history, but so do I. We both have a presence in the business in what we offer,” he noted. “We have vastly different styles. It’s going to be interesting. I think it’s going to be something fans can sink their teeth into. For ISPW fans, it’s sort of a dream match, I’m sure.”

A Man Of Commitment

Holliday will have Busted Open Radio‘s Dave LaGreca in his corner on Friday night. The famed host has also made a home for himself in ISPW, as has Maven. LaGreca and Maven have their own history in the promotion. Pritchard said he didn’t want to ruffle feathers, but it felt like Maven and Holliday might make a “rarified” combo.

“Maven is awesome. Maven is a YouTube sensation right now. He is a superstar, for sure. But within the confines of ISPW, Dave’s my guy,” Holliday proclaimed. “Dave’s my manager, I won the title with Dave. I got to meet his brother, who’s a sports-talk radio guy in New York, so as a big Yankee fan, that was really cool for me. I’m with the LaGreca’s, so Maven’s going to have to be on the outside looking in in terms of my title reign and what I’m doing as champion. I’m a man of commitment, so it’s me and Dave. He’s my guy.”

ISPW 25 takes place on Friday, September 29th at the Totowa PAL in Totowa, New Jersey, with a bell time of 7:30 p.m. More event information can be found here.
