#4.) Lack of legends

One thing WWE definitely got right this year was the fact that there was an absence of legends from both Royal Rumble matches. Sure, we saw Jeff Jarrett return, but that was just one of them, and it was a very fun return on top of that. Last year in the Women’s Royal Rumble, not only did we see a lot of legends, but they were the most dominant ones, eliminating the newer superstars left and right.

This year, WWE chose the route of having NXT superstars appear instead, and that was a much better option. Firstly, the talent in the ring was far superior to the previous year’s Women’s Rumble. Secondly, it was good to see a lot of fresh faces and young, hungry superstars take the stage instead.

Even in the Men’s Rumble, there were no old superstars or part-timers returning, and that’s a good thing!
