WWE WrestleMania 42 Night 2 Results: Review, Grades, Card For Apr 19

Our WWE WrestleMania 42 Night 2 Results for tonight include Oba Femi clashing with Brock Lesnar, Dominik Mysterio taking on “Demon” Finn Bálor, Penta defending the Intercontinental Championship in a ladder match against Je’Von Evans, Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh, Rusev, and Rey Mysterio, Rhea Ripley challenging Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship, Trick Williams battling Sami Zayn for the United States Championship, and CM Punk defending the World Heavyweight Championship against the 2026 Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns. Here’s our review and grades for tonight’s show, live from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

WWE WrestleMania 42 Night 2 Results:

John Cena welcomes the crowd to the show.

Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman

Femi and Lesnar lock up. Femi backs Lesnar down. They lock up again. Lesnar backs Femi into the corner. Femi walks through Lesnar’s offense. Lesnar tries a clothesline, but Femi is unfazed. Femi floors Lesnar with a lariat. Lesnar falls out of the ring. Lesnar sends Femi into the steps. After sending Femi back into the ring, Lesnar lands two German suplexes, which put The Ruler on his heels. Femi gets to his feet.

Lesnar lands another suplex. The crowd chants for Femi as he elbows his way out of another suplex. Femi lands a running European in the corner. Femi charges in and eats an F5. As Lesnar celebrates, Femi struggles to get to his feet. Lesnar turns around, and Femi lands a chokeslam. Fall from Grace by Femi! Femi wins! Femi wins!

Winner: Oba Femi

As the crowd chants, “Oba!” Femi celebrates on the ramp. Lesnar is still lying out in the ring. Lesnar hasn’t moved. As Lesnar finally sits up, he removes his gloves and leaves his boots in the ring. Lesnar is… emotional. Heyman gets in the ring, and the two men hug.

Grade: A+

Brock made Femi look like the biggest badass who ever lived, which he is. This match did EVERYTHING it needed to. Lesnar left his boots in the ring, so it’s a wrap on his career. Lesnar went out on his shield. Hard not to respect that.

Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match | Penta (c) vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh vs. Rusev vs. Rey Mysterio

Everyone lands a big move right out the gate. McDonagh is left in the ring and climbs the ladder. Evans springboards off the ropes and clotheslines McDonagh off the ladder. Mysterio gets hung up on the ladder. Dragon Lee lands a leg drop to a hanging Mysterio. Lee climbs the ladder. Rusev pulls Lee off the ladder and blasts him with a uranage. Rusev suplexes Evans on a ladder. Penta launches Mysterio into the air into Rusev, who crashes through a ladder. 619 by Mysterio to Penta. Lee and Mysterio fight atop the ladder.

Lee crushes Mysterio with a Styles Clash. McDonagh takes Lee off the ladder with a Spanish fly! Penta cuts McDonagh off on the ladder. Penta takes McDonagh off the ladder and hits a Mexican Destroyer! Everyone is down. Evans climbs the ladder. Rusev tosses Evans out of the ring. Rusev climbs. Evans leaps off the top and hits an OG Cutter on Rusev off the ladder! Penta rolls in and catches Evans with a Mexican Destroyer! Penta climbs the ladder and pulls down the title for the win.

Winner and STILL Intercontinental Champion, Penta!

Grade: B

This was one of the better ladder matches. Penta’s win was somewhat surprising, but you can’t be mad at it. Penta chased the IC title for almost a year. He needs a long reign.

United States Championship | Sami Zayn (c) vs. Trick Williams w/Lil Yachty

After some back and forth, Williams is sent over the top. Zayn set up a dive, but Williams cuts him off with an elbow strike. Ripcord Bookend by Williams. Williams sets up the trick shot. Zayn avoids it and lands a big boot. Zayn beats down Williams. The ref pulls Zayn away. Yachty checks on Williams. Unprovoked, Zayn attacks Yachty. The crowd boos. Zayn brainbusters Williams on the apron. Zayn has been relentless.

Zayn Helluva Kicks Williams outside the ring. Williams is almost counted out. Zayn seemingly was willing to let that happen, which is odd for Zayn. While the referee checks on Williams, Yachty stuns Zayn on the top rope. Cyclone boot by Williams. Zayn kicks out. Williams calls for the Trick Shot. Zayn counters with the Blue Thunder Bomb. Williams kicks out. Zayn sets up the Helluva Kick. Williams surprises a charging Zayn with the Trick Shot! Williams pins Zayn!

Winner and NEW United States Champion, Trick Williams!

Grade: B

Fun match that further sowed the seeds of Zayn’s inevitable heel turn. AfricaNXT’s takeover of the main roster is almost complete. This writer couldn’t be happier. GIVE US MORE!

Street Fight: “Demon” Finn Bálor vs. Dominik Mysterio

Bálor beats Dominik with a kendo stick and pulls a table from under the ring. Bálor is on his heels. Dominik surprises Bálor with a dive. Dominik wacks Bálor with a kendo stick. Dominik lands a 619 followed by a frog splash. Bálor kicks out at one. Bálor tries the double stomp. Dominik avoids it and hits Bálor in the face with a chair. Dominik tosses Bálor through a table.

Bálor is down. Dominik wraps a chair around Bálor’s head and hits another 619. Frog splash by Dominik. Bálor kicks out again! Dominik unloads on Bálor with a chair. Dominik sets up a table. Bálor pops to his feet and runs over Dominik. Bálor beats Dominik down with a chair before wrapping it around his neck. Woo dropkick by Bálor. Bálor puts Dominik through a table with the Coup de Grače for the win!

Winner: Finn Bálor

Grade: C+

This match was too long. Don’t get this writer wrong, it’s fun seeing these two duke it out, but this is the Demon we are talking about. End this in two moves. Make the Demon the scariest thing next to the next big thing, Oba Femi. Dominik can get destroyed and not lose anything.

WWE Women’s Championship | Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley

Cargill sends Ripley to the mat with a shoulder block. Powerslam by Cargill. Ripley responds with a slam of her own. Ripley hits the ropes and runs into another slam from Cargill. Cargill works over Ripley. Powerbomb by Cargill. Ripley kicks out and laughs at Cargill. Cargill goes nuts and lands a flurry. Ripley walks into a crossface by Cargill. Ripley breaks the hold. Spinebuster by Cargill. Ripley kicks out.

Cargill tries a powerbomb, but Ripley counters with a rana. Michin appears as Ripley is setting up the Razor’s Edge. While Michin distracts the referee. B-Fab saves Cargill. Michin kicks Ripley’s head into the ring post. Cargill hits Ripley with the One Winged Angel by Cargill. IYO SKY hits the ring and takes out Michin and B-Fab. After a series of counters, Ripley hits Riptide for the win.

Winner and NEW WWE Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley!

Grade: B

This was Cargill’s best match to date. No notes, other than having her lose here was a bit silly. What is the point of giving her a stable to have her lose her first defense since getting the group? Odd stuff, but this match was so much fun to watch. The finish of this was super creative, and this writer has never seen Ripley counter into the Riptide that way. Gold stars for everyone involved in this one.

World Heavyweight Championship | CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns

Punk and Reigns go nose-to-nose. A lock-up ends with an awkward exchange. Punk mocks Reigns for getting his hair grease all over him. After another lock-up, Punk takes Reigns down and mocks him. Reign gets in Punk’s face. Another exchange ends with Reigns on top, mocking Punk. Punk chops Reigns. Reigns brushes it off and floors Punk with a right hand. Punk gets sent over the top by a clothesline. Reigns works over Punk outside the ring. Punk lands a clothesline off the barricade. Back in the ring, Reigns and Punk trade strikes. A boot from Reigns sends Punk flying. Reigns works over Punk.

Punk lands a crossbody followed by a series of punches. Leg Lariat by Punk. Corner knee by Punk. Bulldog by Punk. Punk calls for the GTS. Reigns counters with a Superman Punch! Punk kicks out. Reigns calls for the Spear. Punk cuts Reigns off with a running knee mid taunt! Punk burst out laughing as Reigns is reeling in the corner. A clothesline sends Reigns over the top. A dive from Punk sends Reigns into the commentary desk. Punk tries to put Reigns through the commentary desk, but Reigns cuts him off. Reigns hangs Punk in the tree of woe and lays in a flurry of strikes, including several Superman Punches.

Reigns hits Punk in the head with the ring steps. Punk is busted open. Reigns sends Punk through the commentary desk with an Awesome Bomb. Reigns tries a Spear, but Punk surprises him with a GTS! Reigns kicks out! Punk tries another GTS. Reigns escapes and hits a Spear! Punk kicks out! An angry Reigns repeatedly slams Punk’s head into the mat. Reigns does Punk’s Go To Sleep taunt. Reigns tries to GTS Punk, but Punk lands on his feet and kicks Reigns in the head. Punk goes out of the ring and grabs the Ula Fala and puts it on. Punk calls for the Spear, but Reigns counters with the gullotine. Punk reverses that into the Anaconda Vice. Another series of reversals led to a double clothesline spot. Both men are down!

Punk and Reigns jaw at each other, which leads to a strike exchange. Punk headbutts Reigns, which, spoiler alert, didn’t work out for him. NEVER headbutt a Samoan. Punk throws his wrist tape at Reigns. The referee turns around, and Punk low blows Reigns! GTS by Punk! Reigns kicks out! Punk drives Reigns through the commentary desk with a diving elbow drop off the top. GTS by Punk. Reigns bounces off the ropes and lands on Punk’s shoulders again. Punk lifts Reigns for another GTS, but Punk’s knees buckle, and he collapses. Spear by Reigns! Reigns can’t make the cover. Punk gets up to his knees and takes a weak swipe at Reigns, but he has nothing left. Reigns hits a Super Spear for the win!

Winner and NEW World Heavyweight Champion, Roman Reigns!

Grade: A+

This match was the match of the weekend. Reigns and Punk told a story and took us on a wild journey filled with razor-thin nearfalls and huge moves. Punk got to be heel Punk again, and you could tell by the laughter he couldn’t hold in that he was having the time of his life. Punk loses nothing by making Roman look strong here. Reigns most likely has a date with Oba Femi coming that will NOT go his way. That feud is going to feed a nation.
