WarGames I saw the transition into a very important period of time in NXT. You could argue that it was the conclusion of an era in NXT where the “hottest free agent” was constantly dominating the main event scene. The young, homegrown WWE prospect Velveteen Dream made his name despite a loss to Aleister Black, while Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas would make a statement by becoming NXT Champion.
After multiple failures, Ember Moon would finally get her hands on the vacant NXT Women’s Championship, while an epic main event saw the WarGames match make its debut in WWE, a match where The Undisputed Era won in incredible fashion.
