#2.) John Cena

John Cena, simply put, is the greatest United States Champion in WWE history. He first won the title at WrestleMania 20 by beating The Big Show in the opening contest. While he never lost the title, he did win it back twice in 2004, with his third reign crossing a 100 days. However, it was his 2015 run with the title that was perhaps the most impactful one.

He introduced the “United States open challenge”, a weekly challenge he issued on RAW where any superstar could challenge him. It was a brilliant concept because it helped other superstars who didn’t have the spotlight step up and grab the opportunity. It was easily the greatest United States title run in WWE since it got re-introduced and it could have gone longer, but that was the period where Cena began his slow transition into ventures outside of WWE.
