Hardly a month after RVD’s big debut with Impact Wrestling, he defeated Jeff Hardy in a #1 contenders match for the World Heavyweight Championship. He defeated Hardy and that very night, he would face AJ Styles for the title and shockingly beat him in what was an excellent match.
You simply can’t go wrong with Styles and RVD in the ring together and they delivered an excellent match on free TV. It came as a big shock that TNA decided to put the title on RVD as quickly as they did. Unfortunately for him, that would be his only World title reign with the company.
