In late 1999 and early 2000, Triple H was involved in a feud with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and Mick Foley as Mankind. Foley would win the WW(E)F Championship from Steve Austin at SummerSlam 1999 and lose it to Triple H the next night on RAW Is WAR. Early in 2000, HHH and Cactus Jack would have two back-to-back classics at the Royal Rumble and No Way Out in a street fight and Hell In A Cell respectively.
Though HHH would come out on top almost all the time, Mick Foley can be credited to helping further legitimize Triple H as a main event star in the company.
