On Christmas day Mattel’s WWE Senior Designer Bill Miekina revealed prototype images of the once cancelled Wrestlemania Axxess/WWE Shop exclusive Elite Asuka figure.

Wrestlemania Axxess/WWE Shop Exclusive Asuka Elite

Bill Miekina said that the Asuka figure will actually appear in a future Elite lineup in 2019, which is great news for collectors as she was supposed to be an exclusive at Wrestlemania Axxess as well as WWE Shop. She was first revealed at San Diego Comic Con earlier this year and planned to come with several masks and head gear as well as a fur coat.

There is no word at this time what accessories she will come with exactly, if any now, but her new head scan looks much better than her last one as it features the True FX scanning technology.

WWE Elite Squad Featured on WWE’s YouTube

WWE shared a video of AJ Styles and one of Mattel’s WWE Elite Squad members, SLS_Animations, showcasing some of the new WWE action figures and how to pose them for wrestling figure photography.

Wrestling figure photography has become a growing community amongst WWE toy collectors with artists all over the world recreating WWE moments in action figure form, as seen on our very own Figure 2 Photo show. History of WWE Hasbros Toy Line

Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins released a special episode on their Major Wrestling Figure Podcast talking about the full history of the WWE Hasbro toy line, which is now reimagined in Mattel’s WWE Retro toy line.

In the episode they walk through every figure released as well as exclusives and even non-released figures. It’s a fun listen for any classic collector who used to buy them or even the new collector looking to learn about past WWE action figures. You can listen to the episode here.
