2018 Wrestlezone Year-End Awards – Feud Of The Year

2018 was filled with some memorable feuds in professional wrestling. From Cody and Kenny Omega battling over Bullet Club leadership to IMPACT Wrestling featuring two generations of LAX battling it out, there were plenty of entertaining beefs up for our Feud of the Year award.

However, the best feud, and one that will be remembered for years to come, was the series of matches that Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa had in NXT. It won our fan voting with 47.6% of the votes. The former tag team partners became enemies after Ciampa betrayed his former DIY partner, and the two had a classic unsanctioned match at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans that saw Gargano win.

The feud was far from over, though. Ciampa got his revenge at NXT TakeOver: Chicago, and then won the NXT Championship after Gargano accidentally hit Aleister Black with the belt. This led to a Last Man Standing match between Ciampa and Gargano, which stole the show at TakeOver: Brooklyn IV.

While they’ve been in a blood feud for most of the year, the past couple months have shown the two starting to reconcile, as Gargano turned heel after being revealed as Black’s attacker. It’s an interesting wrinkle to one of 2018’s best storylines.
