WWE, WCW, and All Japan Pro-Wrestling veteran Dan Spivey was recently interviewed by The Hannibal TV. In it, he discussed his friendship with the late Dynamite Kid and the time he wound up overdosing at his house.

Check out highlights below:

His friendship with Dynamite Kid:

Our friendship started when I went up to WWE. Me and Dynamite traveled the roads. I have a huge respect for him. He just recently died and my friend Gary Portz, who wrestled as Scott McGhee, every time we get together, we tell Dynamite stories. Pound-for-pound he was awesome. A great performer that gave his life to this business. He did some crazy stuff, made it look realistic and it was real. I love the guy. He had a lot of guts and didn’t back down from anybody. I can’t say enough good things about him. I miss him.

When Dynamite overdosed at his house:

[He was house sitting] and he took something, I don’t know what it was. Started having seizures, at one point I had to give him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Called the EMS and it took him to the hospital. Gary Portz came to the house and I told Gary that he had to get Dynamite out of the hospital since I didn’t know if they were going to arrest him. That was the last time I saw Dynamite Kid. Gary went to the hospital, snuck him out, and he was on a plane to England the next day.
