AEW Dynamite Results
Tony Schiavone is in the ring and welcomes Kenny Omega. The Cleaner arrives to a huge pop. Swerve Strickland shows up next. Schiavone says the issue dates back to Maximum Carnage and asks Swerve for his comments.
Swerve says he needs to get something off his chest. He explains that Omega was at the top of his game four years ago, but that guy was nowhere to be found when Swerve reached the top. He calls Kenny a false prophet. Strickland adds that Omega wants to insert himself into the title picture after they joined forces at Anarchy in the Arena and accuses him of using his EVP power.
Swerve says Omega can call himself a god, but he will put him down if necessary.
Kenny has the mic and says he never gave himself the title of “God of Pro Wrestling” — it was given to him by the people. Omega embraces his role as the Best Bout Machine.
Kenny tells Swerve that this may be his house and the lights may be on, but there’s no one home. If pushed, Omega knows exactly the guy who can burn the house down. He accuses Swerve of costing him an opportunity at the world title and makes it clear that he’s looking for a fight. Omega challenges Strickland to either step up or yield.
Swerve says he’ll gladly put Omega back in the hospital bed. Omega, tired of talking, slaps Swerve, and Strickland takes his jacket off — sparking a full-fledged brawl. The fight spills into the crowd, with no security able to separate the two men as they clash all over the arena.
Strickland hits Omega with a trash can before they make their way to the stage. Omega slams Swerve’s head onto the giant LED screen, then hits him with a V-Trigger. He goes for a One-Winged Angel, but Swerve counters, spiking Omega with an object before spearing The Cleaner onto production tables, capping off the explosive opening segment.
Kyle Fletcher backstage segment
Renee Paquette is backstage with Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis. Both men are confident about Fletcher’s chances in the upcoming TNT Championship match against Tommaso Ciampa. Fletcher says he plans to return to his home country at AEW Grand Slam Australia with the title around his waist.
Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & PAC) vs. Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita, Josh Alexander & Mark Davis)
- The finish of the match saw Jon Moxley plant Josh Alexander with a Death Rider for the win.
Winners: The Death Riders
Grade: A-
AEW always delivers with trios tag team action, and tonight was no exception. This match was a barn burner, with an awesome closing stretch where the Don Callis Family relentlessly barraged Moxley with their offense. In the end, Moxley emerged victorious, looking strong ahead of his Continental Championship match against Takeshita at AEW Grand Slam: Australia.
Tommaso Ciampa (c) vs. Kyle Fletcher – TNT Championship Match
- The finish of the match saw Kyle Fletcher plant Tommaso Ciampa with a Sheer Drop Brainbuster for the win.
Winner and new TNT Champion: Kyle Fletcher
After the match, Renee Paquette interviews Fletcher for his comments. Fletcher calls himself the greatest TNT Champion and announces an open challenge for the title at AEW Grand Slam: Australia. Mark Briscoe then shows up to congratulate Fletcher on his win. He reminds Fletcher that they are 3-3 in singles action, but there needs to be a decisive winner. Fletcher says he’s tired of seeing Briscoe’s “stupid face” but promises to honor his word for the open challenge. The seventh bout in this saga, however, will see the TNT Championship on the line in a ladder match.
Grade: A+
Wow! I didn’t expect Ciampa to drop the title in just his second defense. AEW coming to Australia likely played a role in Tony Khan’s decision to book the win for Fletcher. He has all the tools to become a future world champion. As for Ciampa, the loss may be disappointing, but this writer has full faith in his success in the company. With the level of performance these two delivered, it will be hard for the rest of the card to top that.

Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong vs. Clark Connors & Daniel Garcia
- The match ended with Orange Cassidy reversing Daniel Garcia’s Sharpshooter into a roll-up pin for the victory.
Winners: Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong
As Cassidy is about to celebrate his victory, Toni Storm’s music hits, and the Timeless One grabs the mic. Storm asks the “children of California” to lend her their ears. She then delivers a hilarious promo, taking shots at Marina, calling her a “mixed martial art-hole,” and Wheeler Yuta, dubbing him “that annoying little s*it.”
Yuta interrupts and signals Shafir to bring out Mina Shirakawa, who is caught in a Mother’s Milk submission. Yuta cuts off Shirakawa’s ponytail as Daniel Garcia attacks Cassidy inside the ring, leaving Toni Storm in utter shock.
Grade: B+
Roderick Strong turned his back on Cassidy in the middle of the match, forcing Orange to fend for himself. But the highlight, as always, was Toni Storm’s promo. Watching The Death Riders humiliate Mina Shirakawa has this writer convinced that Yuta and Shafir are losing this Saturday at AEW Grand Slam: Australia.
That said, Moxley certainly raised some eyebrows when he asked his fellow broadcast colleagues to imagine Storm without her hair.
We hear from Andrade and Hangman
We hear backstage comments from Andrade and Hangman following their win last week on AEW Dynamite. Don Callis and Andrade celebrate their growing partnership, with El Idolo vowing to become AEW World Champion.
Meanwhile, Hangman expresses frustration over being unable to face Kenny Omega, despite his desire to step into the ring with his former rival at AEW Grand Slam: Australia.
JetSpeed, consisting of Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey, express confidence that Hangman Page will become a double champion. They even tease going after singles gold themselves before heading to the ring for their upcoming No. 1 contenders match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks and a wild card team.
Wild Card Team Revealed
After The Rascalz and The Young Bucks made their entrances, Private Party were revealed as the wild card team in the AEW World Tag Team Championship No. 1 Contenders Match. This marks their first match on AEW programming since their tag team title bout against The Hurt Syndicate on the January 22, 2025 episode of AEW Dynamite.
The Rascalz vs. Young Bucks vs. Private Party
- The match ended with The Young Bucks hitting Myron Reed with a springboard piledriver to secure the victory.
Winners and new tag team titles #1 contenders: The Young Bucks
After the match, AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR make their way to the ring, with Stokely in a wheelchair. Dax Harwood says they come in peace. He points out that the two teams share 18 world tag team titles between them, but claims The Young Bucks are comfortably in second place.
Dax refuses to let Matt speak and says FTR have proven themselves in every company they’ve worked for, unlike The Bucks, who had to create their own company to be successful. Matt has heard enough and responds with a superkick to Dax. Nick takes out Cash Wheeler as chaos erupts.
The Bucks exit the ring while Stokely attempts to escape. Matt and Nick tease hitting him with a superkick, only to instead place the tag team titles on his shoulders.
Grade: A-
First off, welcome back, Private Party! Second, the match was awesome. The Rascalz fit in AEW like a glove. The Young Bucks have a long history with FTR, so booking them to win was the right call.
This writer was really hoping to see Stokely eat a superkick, but it just wasn’t that kind of night.
Another Will Ospreay montage
This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured a vignette highlighting Will Ospreay. In the segment, Ospreay discusses his recovery journey as footage shows him training hard and preparing for his return to the ring.
MJF vs. Brody King promo
MJF defends his AEW World Championship against Brody King this Saturday at Grand Slam: Australia.
Kris Statlander (c) vs. Thekla – AEW Women’s World Title Strap Match
- The match ended with Thekla hitting Kris Statlander with a stomp to pick up the victory.
Winner and new AEW Women’s World Champion: Thekla
After the match, The Triangle of Madness jump Kris Statlander, but Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter run in to make the save. The post-match angle ends with the Sisters of Sin escorting Thekla to the back while the babyfaces glare at them from the ring.
Grade: C+
I’m not a fan of Kris Statlander’s title reign ending. It feels too soon to pull the plug on her run. A win here would have cemented her as the face of the AEW women’s division.
The post-match beatdown also felt unnecessary and took away from Thekla’s moment. As for the match itself, it was solid, but the outcome and the after-match shenanigans force this writer to give it a B-.
Overall Grade: B+
This was an A- show up until the main event, where the outcome really ruined it for me. I also found it hilarious that Bryan Danielson didn’t name-drop Ricky Starks, despite continuously referencing their Strap Match from years ago.
Ciampa vs. Fletcher was the match of the night and my favorite AEW Dynamite bout of 2026 so far. Kenny and Swerve’s segment was fun, but don’t let that influencer anywhere near the ring again — she’s bound to complain it’s “so fake” after posting about last week’s pull-apart brawl between Omega and Strickland on social media.
