WWE Signs Former Japanese Wrestler & MMA Veteran Kendo Kashin As A Coach

The WWE announced today that they have signed legendary Japanese wrestler and MMA veteran Tokimitsu Ishizawa, who some might know as Kendo Kashin, to become the newest coach to join their training facility in Orlando, Florida.

Ishizawa became a pro wrestler in the early 1990s, and then went on to a stellar career in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and All Japan Pro-Wrestling. Known for his submission specialities, Ishizawa also took part in MMA, fighting for the PRIDE Fighting Championships league.

Ishizawa was also a competitor in Europe and the United States during the later part of his career, being named the 22nd best wrestler in the world from Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Top 500 rankings in 2002. He was invited to become a guest coach for the WWE Performance Center in February, and will likely be a hot commodity for some of the WWE superstars once he begins.
