WWE will not be going live on Christmas Day in 2020.
This year, Christmas falls on a Friday, the typical day for WWE SmackDown to go live on the FOX network. while WWE has run Christmas shows live in the past, this year they will not be doing that, according to new reports.
According to Gary Cassidy of Inside The Ropes, WWE will tape the show beforehand rather than go live on Christmas Day. Three years ago, WWE Raw live on Christmas Day in 2017 and live on New Year’s Day 2018 which was met with some backlash from workers, specifically Reby Hardy, the wife of Matt Hardy was unhappy about this decision and voiced her displeasure on Twitter.

Currently, it is unknown whether or not WWE SmackDown will go live on New Year’s Day in 2021.
