Paradigm Pro Wrestling Launching New Series For Sports-Centric Hybrid Wrestling

Kentucky- area based Paradigm Pro Wrestling is offering its own spin on empty arena wrestling starting this week with the UWFi Rules Contenders Series. The weekly series will focus on a style of match PPW has been utilizing since this past November that works as a hybrid of pro wrestling and MMA.

Named after the defunct Union of Professional Wrestling Forces International in Japan, matches contended under UWFi rules have on pinfalls. Instead, they can only be won via knock-out, TKO, submission, or points.

PPW co-promoter Gary Wilson had this to say regarding the weekly event:

We are serious about presenting professional wrestling as a sport. We’ve been blessed to be able to feature MMA legends like Dan “The Beast” Severn, Stephan Bonnar, and Tom Lawlor on previous UWFi Rules events. Now we’re turning our attention towards the next generation of shoot-style wrestling, all our new competitors showed up with something to prove and the results were outstanding

Contenders in the series include PPW roster stalwarts like Heavy Hitters Champion The Hoodfoot, Lord Crewe, “Big Beef” Gnarls Garvin, and deathmatch sensation AKIRA. The series will also feature a new group of athletes looking for a spot on the PPW roster.

Episodes of the UWFi Rules Contenders Series will start airing on IndependentWrestling.TV Wednesdays at 10 PM ET starting this week.
