If you’re excited about NXT TakeOver: In Your House this weekend, we’ve got good news. Another NXT TakeOver is already being planned for in the not too distant future. SummerSlam weekend to be exact.
Today on The Mat Men Podcast, Andrew Zarian revealed that WWE was planning to hold another NXT TakeOver this summer. This report was later confirmed by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, who revealed that the working plan at the moment is for NXT TakeOver to take place on August 22, the day after this year’s SummerSlam.
Unlike years past, however, it’s currently scheduled to take place at the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida, instead of Las Vegas, Nevada, where SummerSlam will be held. Sapp reports the working idea of scheduling TakeOver at the Capitol Wrestling Center is that it gives the company flexibility if they decide they wish to hold it somewhere else.
During today’s NXT TakeOver: In Your House conference call, Triple H stated that there is a “work in progress” as it pertains to an NXT TakeOver SummerSlam weekend. When asked about the event taking place at the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, The Game changed the subject and instead talked about the process of getting the WWE Universe back at all of their live events.

WWE will obviously need to focus on this Sunday’s NXT TakeOver first before looking ahead to the next one in August, so we probably won’t get an official announcement from the company regarding this event for the next several weeks.
