Marina Shafir On WWE Release: I Need To Be Keen, I’m Not Done

Marina Shafir will continue to be the hardest worker in the room.

Shafir posted the following statement on Twitter in regards to her WWE release:

It’s a cold world. Good thing I was born in Moldova. Thank you to everyone who reached out and thank you for the opportunity @WWENXT. I will continue to be the hardest worker in the motherfucking room, but now i need to be keen. I’m not done.

Shafir was one of the many cuts WWE made on June 25 as a cost-cutting measure. PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson, who reported Shafir had been cut, noted that the move came as a surprise, explaining that WWE had pitched changing her ring name and had plans in store for her.

Shafir signed with WWE in 2018 and she appeared in various matches for RAW Underground and NXT. Her final match for WWE was a first-round loss in the 2021 Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic to Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart.
