Jake Atlas Comments On WWE Release

Jake Atlas is looking forward to getting to do things his way.

Jake Atlas posted the following statement on social media in response to being released by WWE on Friday night.

“For 5 years, I worked hard to play the game the way I thought they would have wanted me to,” Atlas said. “If in that time I was able to accomplish all that I have with a limited understanding of who & what ‘Jake Atlas’ is, imagine what I’m capable of doing now that I get to do it MY way.”

Atlas was one of thirteen names cut by WWE on Friday. He briefly addressed the move that night, noting “I’ve always been famous. It’s just no one knew it yet.” Atlas signed with WWE in October 2019 and largely appeared on NXT and 205 Live.

Prior to signing with the promotion, he was featured on an episode of CBS’ “Celebrity Undercover Boss” that also featured WWE Chief Brand Manager Stephanie McMahon. Atlas was offered a contract as a brand ambassador after he told McMahon that he wanted to become WWE’s first openly out wrestler.
