King Of The Ring Tourney Reportedly Taking Place In October, Finals Will Take Place In Saudi Arabia

It looks like fans will see WWE crown a King Of The Ring and a Queen Of The Ring in October.

According to a report from the Mat Men Podcast’s Andrew Zarian, WWE plans on hosting the King Of The Ring tournament this October, the same month that they are also set to reportedly introduce a Queen Of The Ring event. In addition, Zarian reports WWE will hold the finals of both tournaments in Saudi Arabia when the company returns for their contracted event schedule in the nation.

Zarian previously reported that WWE is scheduled to return to Saudi Arabia in October as long as there are no travel restrictions in place, and October 21 was the rumored date for that event. No specific start date for the King Of The Ring tournament was reported, but Zarian says the Queen Of The Ring tournament is currently scheduled to begin as a two-night event on the 10/8 episode of Smackdown and the 10/11 episode of RAW.

WWE last ran a King Of The Ring tournament in 2019 when it was won by Baron Corbin. Since then, Corbin lost a “battle for the crown” on June 18 to Shinsuke Nakamura. Corbin has since started a gimmick that portrays him as being financially destitute, and Nakamura is recognized as the current bearer of the crown.
