Charlotte’s Whereabouts Last Night Confirmed, Andrade Thanks Ric Flair For Being With Him

WWE held a live event Supershow in Charlotte, North Carolina last night in which Charlotte Flair was advertised for an appearance. She did not end up appearing and Nikki A.S.H. defended her title in a singles match against Rhea Ripley instead of the typical triple threat fans have been seeing in recent weeks.

Charlotte Flair’s whereabouts were confirmed via Twitter, and she was in Mexico with Andrade & Ric Flair as most people suspected. Konnan posted a photo on Twitter which you can see below confirming the report.

Andrade El Idolo took to Twitter himself after the loss to thank Ric Flair for being by his side. He said “Thank you Mr. Ric Flair for accepting to be in my corner. Not in my wildest dreams could I have ever imagined I would have the honor of putting the figure-four on by your side…on top of that — in MEXICO.” He followed up again later by promising to take care of his daughter Charlotte and also saying, “it was a honor to have you not only in my corner but in my home country. I am very grateful. I owe you!!”

On the latest episode of Dave Meltzer’s The Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave reported that the original plan for the match was for Andrade to win the title from Kenny Omega. However, AEW officials reportedly reached out to AAA and asked them to put Omega over and wait until a later date for him to drop the title. Omega had just been coming off a loss in which he dropped the IMPACT World Championship to Christian Cage.

Update: in an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated after the show, Andrade looked back on this unforgettable night, which he was able to share with his fiance, Charlotte Flair and her father, “The Nature Boy” himself. Andrade made it quite clear that sharing the ring with arguably the most legendary wrestler of all time was a remarkable experience.

“Mr. Flair came to Mexico, which I still can’t believe,” said Andrade. “When he hugged me during our entrance, that was real. A bond for the love of what we do professionally that is in our blood. The bond of family.

“No one has had more experience than Mr. Flair. To have his support, his credibility, wanting to come with me to my home country, that was overwhelming. I am beyond grateful. His support and belief in me means more than I can put into words.”

The former NXT Champion looked back on his journey to this moment and compared his background to the status “The Nature Boy” has earned. To Andrade, this moment was utterly magical.

“Being in the ring with one of the greatest of all time, putting on one of the most famous submission holds, that’s something I could have never dreamed,” said Andrade. “I grew up a poor luchador from Northern Mexico. Now I am exchanging chops with a legend. That whole time, I could feel his energy. And seeing all his passion for this business, how much he means to this business, and watching all the stars at the show want to take a picture with him, it was amazing.”

Of course, the wrestling world also buzzed about Charlotte’s presence; “The Queen” is one of WWE’s top stars, and she had been advertised for a live show on Saturday, so her appearance at AAA’s biggest show of the year was noteworthy to say the least. In the interview, Andrade confirmed that Charlotte (real name Ashley Fliehr) asked for the time off months in advance.

“Ashley knew how important this was to me, so she asked for the weekend off two and a half months ago,” said Andrade. “She told me she was so nervous watching my match and tearing up, so it meant a lot that she could be there.”
