Josh Woods dethroned Jonathan Gresham to win the ROH Pure Championship at ROH Death Before Dishonor.
In an interview with Liam Crowley of Wrestling Inc. at the show, Gresham shared his thoughts on his loss. “The Octopus” admitted that he felt “deflated”, though he stated that he still plans to purify ROH, even without the Pure Championship in his hands.
“[I feel] deflated to say the least, but the Pure Division is now in good hands with Josh Woods,” said Gresham. “And I just have to figure out what I need to do next because my goal is still purifying this company.”
Gresham then stated that the focus on purity and honor is the most important thing, so ROH will be “okay” if Woods maintains this philosophy.
“The number one thing is keeping this company pure, and the holder of the Pire Championship must believe in the pure way,” said Gresham. “As long as Josh Woods stays loyal to that idea, Ring of Honor will be okay.”
