Internet Champion Effy Rejects Matt Cardona’s Demand For A Rematch, Tells Him To Put Something On The Line

Effy says Matt Cardona can have another crack at his Internet Championship… if he puts something on the line.

Effy upset Matt Cardona for the title, ending Broski’s 10+ year reign as champion at GCW Lostalot on September 24. Now, Cardona says he wants his title back because Effy stole it… and it left an empty space in Cardona’s life.

“I’m not gonna yell, I’m not gonna bitch, I’m not gonna moan, I’m not gonna scream. But Effy, you know that you screwed me out of the Internet Championship. You stole it. And it’s not just a possession of mine. It’s my livelihood, it’s my creation,” Cardona said. “There’s an empty space on my shelf, and there’s an empty space in my heart. So October 9, Atlantic City, I’m issuing a challenge, a rematch for the Internet Title.

“Now I know there is no rematch clause for the GCW World Title, but this is my title, my creation, the United States of America even recognizes me as the Internet Champion. Now Effy, I don’t know what you’ve been doing with that title,” Cardona added. “I don’t wanna know. But October 9, Atlantic City, the Internet Title is coming home to its real daddy.”

Effy responded to the challenge and said he heard Cardona’s plea, but that match he wants isn’t happening… not unless Cardona sweetens the pot.

“Hey Cardona, it’s Effy. I’m live on Twitch right now, I’m playing games, but I have my belt here, my Internet Championship. And you want a rematch? No, no. The only way this belt goes up is if you really put something on the line,” Effy explained, “and I doubt you have the cojones to do that.”

We’ll have to wait and see if (or how) Cardona gets his rematch, but for now, Effy is the internet.
