Shawn Michaels On NXT 2.0: Vince McMahon And Bruce Prichard Gave Us Direction, But It’s Still Triple H’s Team Doing It

Contrary to popular belief, it appears as if Shawn Michaels and Triple H still run day-to-day operations in NXT 2.0.

WWE Hall of Famer and current NXT producer Shawn Michaels spoke with TV Insider following this past weekend’s NXT: WarGames pay-per-view, and ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ says that even though many fans believe that Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard spearheaded NXT’s transition from the original black and gold brand over to the current product of NXT 2.0, it’s still very much the team Triple H put together at the helm.

“I started out doing two hours a day, three days a week. Now I’m doing it about 23 hours a day, seven days a week. People out there thinking it’s all Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard type of production,” Michaels noted, “they just are the ones who gave us the direction of what it is they wanted from NXT going into the future. It is still all the team Hunter [Triple H] put in place doing it here.

“I love learning and growing in the different aspects of WWE, but I have a greater appreciation for everything he took on. I now understand how you can not return a text when you get it. I’ve never had so many emails, learning computer stuff. Things I swore I would never want to do. But have since learned to do that. It has been a blast. To be able to step in for my friend is my honor to do.”

Michaels also spoke about actually launching the new NXT, noting that some might hold the talent to an unfair standard, but he was excited to see talent deliver at WarGames and said they proved that they belonged.
