WWE Releases Timothy Thatcher

WWE released Timothy Thatcher, among others, on January 5 during a wave of cuts that focused on WWE NXT 2.0 and the Performance Center.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful first reported the news:

Though Thatcher hasn’t competed since the August 24 episode of WWE NXT, he had been coaching over the last few months. At the end of his on-screen run, he had been teaming up with Tommaso Ciampa. Thatcher’s time in WWE NXT remains memorable for his Fight Pit matches against Riddle and Ciampa.

WWE signed Thatcher in February 2020. He made his debut on the April 15, 2020 episode of WWE NXT, and he teamed up with Riddle while travel restrictions linked to the COVID-19 pandemic prevented Pete Dunne from appearing on NXT.

Thatcher was signed by WWE in February 2020. He made his TV debut on the April 15, 2020 episode of NXT when he was the replacement partner for Riddle due to Pete Dunne being unable to travel as a result of COVID restrictions.
