Report: Nick Aldis Signed ‘Hybrid’ Contract With NWA, More Details

New details have emerged regarding the new contract of former NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis.

According to Inside The Ropes, Nick Aldis has signed a new one-year deal with the National Wrestling Alliance. But unlike his previous contract, this one is being reported as a hybrid deal, which means Aldis will not only serve as an on-screen talent but a backstage producer as well.

While it’s clear that Nick Aldis already had a lot of pull backstage in the National Wrestling Alliance, to begin with, this hybrid contract will only give him more power as the company advances in 2022.

Nick Aldis spoke to WrestleZone last year and spoke on his feelings when it comes to booking and the creative process:

“So, my feeling on booking or creative is—there’s no point of me swimming upstream. The chances are, and that’s where social media can be very useful,” Aldis noted, “because obviously, you can sort of take a cross-section of sentiment and get a general idea of where people’s heads are at. Then I just sort of take it and lean that way with it and go, ‘OK naturally there’s some resentment starting to emerge, so let’s go with it.’ Let’s embrace it, let’s go into it. It’s business, and look, I like being the guy people love to hate. It’s a good place to be.”
