TERMINUS ‘All Roads Lead Here’ Results (1/16): Jonathan Gresham And More Compete

On January 16, TERMINUS introduced the wrestling world to its brand of Modern Age Grappling with its debut event at the Salvation Army Kroc Atlanta in Atlanta, GA.

The event featured stars like Moose and Daniel Garcia. Plus, Jonathan Gresham and Bandido will defend their respective ROH World Championships, and Jordynne Grace will put her IMPACT Digitial Media Championship on the line.

The results are as follows

Lee Moriarty vs. Josh Woods

Moriarty had been set to face Jay Lethal, but with what appears to be a last-minute change, ROH Pure Champion Josh Woods replaces the latter. The two grapplers feel each other out to open the bout. The contest is a stalemate early on, as neither man manages to gain a sustained advantage.

Woods eventually takes control and grounds Moriarty by overpowering him. “The Tactical Beast” targets his opponent’s arm, but Moriarty returns the favor. He locks in a crossface, but Woods escapes. Both men are down after simultaneous kicks.

The ROH Pure Champion suplexes Moriarty, but “The Apex of Combat” counters a suplex and stacks Woods up for the win.

Winner: Lee Moriarty

Terminal Eliminator Match: JDX vs. Daniel Garcia vs. Invictus Khash vs. Adam Priest

This match is contested under similar rules to ROH’s Four Corner Survival match, as it utilizes tags in and out of the action. Priest and Khash start the bout and battle for position. Khash uses his strength for an early advantage, but Priest catches him with a dropkick. Priest kicks Garcia and suplexes him. JDX tags in and drops Priest with a back elbow. Khash floors JDX with a rolling elbow. JDX responds with a back fist and a Paydirt. Garcia tags back in, and “Red Death” takes control with a vicious knee to the back. He suplexes JDX and maintains the advantage. Priest briefly enters the bout, but Garcia comes right back in and continues to control the action.

JDX rallies and hits an STO/DDT combo on Garcia and Khash. He plants Garcia with a spinebuster. Garcia steals the three count with an accidental low blow on JDX.

JDX has been eliminated.

Khash enters the ring and drills Priest with some stiff strikes. Priest suplexes the big man, and Garcia catches Khash with a knee strike. Garcia steals another pin by pinning Priest after Khash suplexes him.

Adam Priest has been eliminated.

Garcia and Khash trade strikes. “Red Death” drills Khash with a palm strike, and the referee calls for the bell because Khash is knocked out.

Winner: Daniel Garcia

Mike Bennett vs. Moose

Matt Taven joins the commentary team for this bout. Moose flips Bennett off early on and easily overpowers him. Bennett tries to use his technical expertise to counter Moose’s strength, but the powerhouse drops him with a shoulder tackle. Moose cheats by using a closed-handed punch and he gets a warning for it. The reigning IMPACT World Champion continues to dominate, as he whips Bennett into the turnbuckle spine-first. The two grapplers trade chops, and Bennett stuns Moose with a superkick and a cutter for a two count. Bennett gets a few two counts on multiple pin attempts. Moose sends Bennett tumbling over the top rope, and the second technical foul earns Bennett the disqualification victory.

Winner via disqualification: Mike Bennett

Moose gets in Alex Coughlin’s face after the match, seemingly teasing a potential bout between the two.

Diamante vs. Janai Kai

Diamante and Kai feel each other out early on, and Kai gains momentum with some stiff strikes. The two women separate, and Diamante grounds Kai. The two women continue to go back and forth, and they struggle to sustain an advantage. Diamante locks in a modified crab, but Kai escapes. With a chokehold, Diamante clinches the submission win.

Winner: Diamante

IMPACT Digital Media Championship: Jordynne Grace (c) vs. Kiera Hogan

Grace and Hogan slowly start the bout, and the challenger goes for some early pin attempts. Hogan takes control, but Grace powers her way back by showcasing her strength. A superkick rocks Grace, but the champion again demonstrates her impressive power with a Musclebuster for a two count. Hogan plants Grace with a neckbreaker. A flurry of offense from Hogan earns her another two count. In the end, Jordynne Grace earns the win with the Fall From Grace.

ROH World Championship: Bandido (c) vs. Baron Black

Bandido and Black exchange technical holds early on. The champion nearly catches Black with the 21-Plex early, but the challenger evades it. Bandido suplexes Black three times with a tribute to Eddie Guerrero. Black rallies and drops Bandido with a Northern Lights suplex. Bandido and Black trade strikes, and the champion gets a two count with a Death Valley Driver. Black gets a two count of his own with a powerbomb and locks in a Texas Cloverleaf. Bandido catches Black with a head-scissors takedown for another two count. Black gets a near fall with a butterfly superplex. Bandido ultimately hits the X-knee and the 21-Plex for the win.

Dante Caballero & Joe Keys vs. Tracy Williams & Fred Yehi

Williams and Keys start the bout and trade holds. “Hot Sauce” briefly gains control before Yehi and Cabellero tag in. Yehi drills Cabellero with some nasty strikes. Keys and Caballero team up and take control against Yehi. Some stiff strikes from Keys rock Yehi, but “The SavageWeight” slams Keys with a suplex. Williams levels Keys with a clothesline but eats a spear. “Hot Sauce” and Yehi work together to isolate Keys. Caballero eventually makes the hot tag and takes control. He blasts Williams with a kick to the face.

After a series of double-team maneuvers, Yehi nearly makes Keys tap to the Koji Clutch, but Caballero sends Williams crashing into “The SavageWeight” to break the hold. Yehi nails Keys with a backfist and gets a two count off a suplex from Yehi.

The match comes down to the final minute, and Keys scores the upset by pinning Willams.

Winners: Dante Caballero & Joe Keys

Pure Rules Match for the ROH Original World Championship: Jonathan Gresham (c) vs. Josh Alexander

Gresham and Alexander feel each other out, and the match is a stalemate early on. Alexander takes Gresham down in a headlock, but Gresham escapes and resets the momentum scale. Gresham starts picking up steam up and hits Alexander with a dropkick. The challenger fires back with a big boot. Alexander makes Gresham burn two rope breaks. The two grapplers trade chops, and Gresham dropkicks Alexander’s knee. “The Octopus” locks in the Figure-Four, but Alexander reaches the ropes.

Gresham hits an impressive hurricanrana, but Alexander nails him with a closed fist. “The Walking Weapon” suplexes Gresham for a two count. Gresham takes Alexander down with a Dragon Screw leg-whip. Alexander catches Gresham in mid-air and plants him with a Tombstone. The two opponents repeatedly trade blows. The challenger traps Gresham in an ankle lock, but “The Octopus” escapes. Alexander drills Gresham with a modified piledriver, but Gresham uses his final rope break to stop the three count. “The Walking Weapon” goes back to the ankle lock, but Gresham escapes again.

The two men pin each other as the referee makes the three count, and the winner is unclear. The official rules that the shoulder of both men were down.

Result: Draw via double pin; Jonathan Gresham retains the Original ROH World Championship.

After the match, Bandido comes to the ring and stares Gresham down. They’re about to shake hands, but AEW star Santana comes to the ring. He grabs a microphone and shakes his head. He credits the promotion and the wrestlers for their “do-it-yourself” attitude. Santana notes that he has a lot of history with Gresham, dating back to his LAX days. He again praises Gresham for building something from nothing and challenges Gresham to a title match for TERMINUS’ second show, which is on February 24. Gresham accepts the challenge, so it’s official.
