Rocky Romero Tests Positive For COVID-19, Update To 1/21 AEW Rampage Card

Due to medical protocol, tonight’s card for AEW Rampage has changed as Rocky Romero and Matt Jackson are no longer scheduled to compete.

This morning during “Tony Time” on Busted Open Radio on SiriusXM, All Elite Wrestling President and owner Tony Khan revealed that due to medical protocol, the advertised match between The Young Bucks and Roppongi Vice has been canceled. Instead, it will now be a singles match that will see Nick Jackson take on Trent Barretta. Khan did state that he hopes that they will be able to reschedule this tag team match for a later date.

Beyond that, Khan did not reveal any additional information regarding the medical status of Matt Jackson or Rocky Romero.

Following Busted Open this morning, Rocky Romero took to social media to reveal he’s the one who has tested positive for COVID-19. Luckily for Romero, he’s vaxed and boosted and said he’s only feeling very mild symptoms:

“Sorry everyone… Gonna have push back the RPG Vice reunion. COVID got me. Currently I’m feeling very mild symptoms. I’m vaxed and boosted so should kick right out of this!!” Rocky Romero tweeted.

Below is the updated card for tonight’s live episode of AEW Rampage:

  • Jon Moxley returns to take on “All Ego” Ethan Page
  • HOOK goes one-on-one with Serpentico
  • Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks will face Trent Barretta of Best Friends
  • Jade Cargill defends the TBS Championship against Anna Jay of The Dark Order

AEW Rampage airs every Friday at 10 PM EST on TNT in the United States and FITE internationally.
