Jeff Jarrett sure had a gem of a #PickAFITE this week for wrestling fans. Factoring in his surprise appearance on WWE SmackDown, the Hall Of Famer has had a very busy weekend and it will culminate this Sunday at The WRLD On GCW PPV in the Hammerstein Ballroom of New York City. Jarrett will face Effy in what is going to be a one-of-a-kind grudge match and it only seems appropriate that Double J dubs this memorable event as his #PickAFITE.

Jarrett recently spoke with Dominic DeAngelo of WrestleZone about his already busy 2022 and talked about what intrigued him about GCW and his opponent this Sunday.
“They’ve been on my radar a long time due to their success on FITE. Candidly, they have continued to grow their audience. They are episodic, compelling, edgey but they are content and at the very core. You referenced ECW, I can say I see threads of this promotion or that promotion and you can say I see threads of Memphis in there and then in Memphis we had threads of this promotion. It’s a lineage and I’m well aware of that. Effy is cut from a different mold, he has a skill-set that is unique.”
Several fans may be surprised to hear that GCW has reached out to Jarrett in years past, but several opportunities including signing with WWE for a time, led to Jarrett Fargo strutting down a different lane, until now.
“They’ve sort of consistently reached out to me and as 2022 was starting to roll around, I’ll say at the end of the summer, early fall I stared sort of piecing things together and then when the opportunity came to kick the new year off on January 1, I thought it was a good way to make statement one of many more to come.”
