Johnny Gargano Comments On ‘Johnny Wrestling’ Chants During AEW Dynamite: Beach Break

Johnny Gargano hears the “Johnny Wrestling” chants, and he wants his fans to know that their support means a lot to him.

During the “Beach Break” edition of AEW Dynamite on January 26, many fans chanted “Johnny Wrestling” throughout the evening. Heading into the show, speculation about Gargano’s potential AEW debut on Wednesday was picking up steam. “Beach Break” was held in Gargano’s hometown of Cleveland, so it was easy to connect the dots and predict that the former NXT Champion would appear on the show in some capacity.

Instead, the episode came and went without the arrival of “Johnny Wrestling”, but the fans’ chants didn’t go unheard. Shortly after AEW Dynamite went off the air, Gargano tweeted a response in which he stated that he heard the crowd, and he’s glad to know that fans want to see him return.

He expressed his concern that fans would forget him during his time away, but Gargano made it clear that the support showed him that the wrestling world remembers him. He also promised to “make it up” to the fans.

Gargano’s WWE contract expired in December, and he decided to leave the company. He subsequently discussed his choice to focus on his family due to the upcoming arrival of “Baby Wrestling”, his child with Candice LeRae. It’s currently unclear when Gargano will return to the ring.
