IMPACT WRESTLING

February 24, 2022

Commentary: Tom Hannifan & Matthew Rehwoldt

Moose comes out and says at No Surrender he proved why he’s the greatest champion in the game and he did it again at No Surrender to W. Morrissey. Despite that, everyone is talking about Eddie Edwards. Moose talks about how he’s turned every opponent’s life upside down. Suddenly, out comes Heath. He says this ain’t no joke. Eddie Edwards was a piece of the IMPACT puzzle. He doesn’t know if Moose is aware of this, but we’re at war. Despite that, Moose is cracking jokes. He’s busted his ass to get to IMPACT and sure, he got hurt, but these fans stuck by him. He’s happy to be a part of IMPACT, but he’s ashamed the champion is just standing by. Moose questions where he has been the past few weeks. Has Moose heard of COVID-19 protocols? Well now he tested negative and now he has a plan in mind. Face Moose and win the title to represent IMPACT Wrestling in the right manner. Well Moose makes it clear he doesn’t care about ROH, Honor No More, IMPACT Wrestling, Rich Swann, Willie Mack, Steve Maclin, Rhino, Heath, his family or his ugly ass kids. Heath brawls with Moose and downs him. Heath celebrates and then walks to the back.

Back there, Team IMPACT wants Heath to join them and go after Honor No More.  Scott D’Amore says that it’s not going to happen as they are going to honor the result of No Surrender. They can settle that in the three-man tag. D’Amore notes that Edwards is rumored to be commenting on his actions at No Surrender and Rhino wants to tear him apart.

Back from break, Honor No More shows up…late. No Eddie Edwards however. Matt Taven says Eddie will show up on his own time and D’Amore will be the first to know.  Enter Moose. He says he doesn’t have a problem with Honor No More as long as they stay out of his way. D’Amore is upset. He books him vs. Heath at Sacrifice.

WINNER: Bhupinder Gujjar

Suddenly, comes W. Morrissey to confront Myers. Morrissey goes to chokeslam Myers, but Skyler tries to stop him. He gets powerbombed through Myers’ own commentator’s table.

Steve Maclin expresses his distaste for Eddie Edwards’ actions

Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs. Lady Frost

Lady Frost chooses the AAA Title.  The two women getting mighty technical with one another. Purrazzo begins to focus on Frost’s knee as Deonna slams it against the apron. Frost nails Purrazzo with an Asai moonsault from the apron.

Back in the ring, Lady Frost attempts to set up Purrazzo for a corner attack, but Deonna chop blocks her and puts her in a Boston Crab. Frost gets her in a pin attempt, but Deonna turns it into her Fujiwa armbar. She locks the other arm and gets Frost to submit.

WINNER and STILL AAA Champion: Deonna Purrazzo

As Deonna exits, Gisele Shaw comes out and stares at the champ before getting in the ring with Frost.

Jay White is with Chris Bey and the Good Brothers. He talks about facing Alex Shelley at Sacrifice before addressing Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa: they’re out of such matters and shedding dead weight is key. The Good Brothers agree. The real OGs are 4 life. Enter VBD. Good Brothers owe them a shot at the Tag Titles. Suddenly, an all-out brawl breaks out as G.O.D. come in. They and VBD share mutual shares before heading off screen.

MATCH 4

Zicky starts with a bit of offense,  but JONAH suplexes him down for a sitting senton. Sit-out powerbomb and it’s over.

WINNER: JONAH

Post-match, JONAH attacks Zicky further and Gail Kim confronts the big man backstage. She tells him he can’t keep doing that. He tells her to quit serving him up appetizers. That prompts Gail to book him against PCO at Sacrifice. JONAH likes that and walks off, but in comes Johnny Swinger. He’s been training in Swinger’s Dungeon with Bill Dundee to learn the art of Austrailian wrestling and wants another shot at JONAH. Kim gives it to him next week.

She takes exception to Green getting the match over her and Gail explains the sound reasoning behind it. Despite that, next week Steelz vs. Green next week for the number one contendership. Green doesn’t look pleased. Mickie says she’s got Green’s back, but Cheslea says she needs to do this on her own.

MAIN EVENT

Honor No More (Matt Taven, Mike Bennett & Kenny King) vs. Chris Sabin, Rich Swann & Willie Mack

The teams trade corner splashes but IMPACT hold King up for a shotgun dropkick courtesy of Sabin. It’s Sabin and Bennett who are the legal men. Taven gets the tag. Sabin kicks both of them and does the same to Bennett on the outsidve via the apron. PCO distracts Sabin and Bennett levels him. Matt gets a two count on Sabin before tagging in King. We soon head to break and back from it, Swann is taking it to the former Kingdom members. He tags in Willie Mack and Willie is on a roll. Mack hits a Samoan Drop. Standing moonsault from Mack. Big bodyslam to Taven. Mack soon gets isolated. Bennett and Mack hit their Proton Pack finisher on Mack for the 1-2-3.

WINNERS: Honor No More

Out comes Eddie Edwards. He gets it. People feel betrayed and they’re right to feel that way but you’re wrong to blame him. The reason he joined Honor No More is to expose corruption in IMPACT Wrestling. Two years ago meant that D’Amore opened doors to others outside IMPACT Wrestling. He was all for it, he welcomed it because he believed in what IMPACT Wrestling was doing. Even when Kenny Omega challenged for the title he was all for it. Swann dropped the ball on Kenny and he let an outsider walk away with the belt. He waited patiently for his shot. Sami Callihan failed, Moosed failed. Eddie still waited for his shot. IMPACT never gave it to him, so he had no choice but to listen to Honor No More. He didnt turn his back on IMPACT, Scott D’Amore and IMPACT Wrestling turned his back on him.

Out comes Alisha Edwards. She isn’t happy. She can’t believe he’s defending his actions. He should be asking for forgiveness to that IMPACT locker room. How could Alisha say that? She saw it all first hand. Alisha makes it clear that Alexander got the job done and brought the title back home to IMPACT. Eddie says this is his family now? Alisha: what about his actual family? Eddie says that is up to her.
