AEW Dynamite Results (3/16/22)

Tonight on AEW Dynamite the massive rivalry between Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker comes to a head as the doctor defends her AEW Women’s World Title against La Mera Mera in a steel cage. Plus the Hardys make their in-ring debut as a tag team.


March 16, 2022, San Antonio, TX

Adam Cole & reDRagon vs. Hangman Page, Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus

It’s Jungle Boy and Cole started the match off before Bobby Fish gets tagged in. It soon is Luchasaurus who becomes the target but a double lariat leads to a a hot tag to Hangman. “Cowboy Shit” chants are echoed in San Antonio as Hangman clears house. Sit-out powerbomb to Fish gets a two count. The faces soon electrify the crowd with a triple moonsault to the outside. Chops to Fish by JB but he gets cornered by RD. We head to pic-in-pic.

Back from it, Luchasaurus slams his foes down for a standing moonsault. He covers the men for a two count.  Submissions are applied, but Hangman breaks up the legal one on Luchasaurus to hit a Deadeye on Cole. Offense is delivered to the heels including a double doomsday device by JB. “This is awesome chants” go down. Adam Cole lowers the Boom on JB while Hangman is held back by KOR to get the three count.

WINNERS: Adam Cole & reDRagon

Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs have some sharp words to say for Keith Lee before he fights Max Caster, but Keith Lee notes that he knocked Ricky down “like a bitch.”


Jon Moxley & Bryan Danielson vs. Wheeler Yuta & Chuck Taylor

William Regal joins commentary. Moxley and Bryan take it Wheeler for starters. Chuck gets a tag and locks a single leg crab , but Taylor gets thwarted by Mox. Danielson gets an Indian deathlock on Taylor. ox then grounds Taylor into a hammerlock.

Back from break, Mox has Taylor in a front chancery. Yuta gets the tag and takes it to Mox.  Belly-to-back bridging suplex for a near fall. Danielson stomps on Yuta. The finish comes after a bulldog choke and submission win to Yuta.

WINNERS: Bryan Danielson & Jon Moxley

Post-match,  Yuta offers a hand to Regal, who slaps him and grins before Yuta makes his exit.

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler tell Schiavone that Tully checked out and that’s why they fired him. Enter the Young Bucks who say that FTR will always be the second best tag team.

The Acclaimed aim to cut a promo on Keith Lee, but is interrupted by Ricky Starks and Hobbs. They however are interrupted by Swerve Strickland.

Out comes the Jericho Appreciation Society. 2point0 run down the fans for singing “Judas.” They introduce Jericho. He goes full heel and calls himself a “sports entertainer” to a chorus of boos. Daniel Garcia calls himself a sports entertainer. Jericho puts over 2point0 and notes that Kevin Owens wanted Jericho to help his Montreal friends. He then turns his focus to Jake Hager. Hager says they beat up pro wrestlers. Jericho calls this the year of the “sports entertainer.”


TNT Championship

Wardlow vs. Scorpio Sky (c)

Dan Lambert comes out with the other TNT Title on and Wardlow slams Sky down for a start. Wardlow mixes it up with Paige Van Zandt and her husband and that leads to an attack from Sky. We head to break.

Back from break, we see Sky talking trash to Wardlow who grabs Sky by the throat. He hits a standing belly-to-belly and then hits a spinebuster. Powerbomb symphony begins. Lambert hops on the apron and it prompts Wardlow to go to the outside. Shawn Spears comes down with two chairs and it distracts Wardlow enough for MJF to attack. Sky rolls Wardlow up for the 1-2-3.

WINNER and STILL TNT Champion: Scorpio Sky

Post-match,  America Top Team attack Wardlow and MJF pays them off. MJF puts on his Dynamite Diamond ring to crack Wardlow with it. Boos for MJF.

Jade Cargill  wants a viable competitor for “That Bitch Show


Private Party vs. The Hardys

Huge pop for the Hardys. Matt starts the bout until Jeff gets a huge pop once he gets the tag. Poetry in motion takesp place and the brothers do flip out suplex. It’s Isiah Kassidy who battles with Matt but PP crotches Matt on the ring post and we go to break.

Back from it, Quen hits a flying senton onto Matt from the outside. Double foot stomp combo to Matt gets a two count. Isiah hits some mounted punches on Matt. Huge reaction for Jeff once he gets the hot tag. He gets several near falls on Isiah. Jeff goes for a Swanton, but Quen crotches him. Matt hits side effects on both Private Party members and Jeff hits a splash.  It’s a matter of time before the brothers hit a Twist of Fate. That sets IK up for a Swanton. 1-2-3.

WINNERS: The Hardys

Out comes the AFO, but Darby Allin and Sting come out to level the playing field.

Tony Schiavone is with Red Velvet. She cuts a brief promo to hype her match against Leyla Hirsch.


AEW Women’s World Championship

Thunder Rosa vs. Britt Baker (c)

Thunder Rosa has full face paint on and comes out to a mariachi band. Britt comes out in Scott Hall styled gear. The crowd is on fire  as dueling chants ooccur. TR hits a clothesline Britt. Rosa sends her into the mesh. “Thunder Rosa” chants. Rosa hammers at Britt’s head before grinding it into the mesh. She’s bloodied up. Rosa gets sent into the mesh while fighting on the outside. Both are bloody as we head to break.

Back from it, Britt throws chairs ino the ring. Rosa catches her with clotheslines. Rosa gives her a stunner (3:16). Shotgun dropkick in the corner to Britt. Britt fights back.  She accidentally superkicks the ref. Rosa hits a Thunder Driver, but the ref isn’t there to make the count. Rosa climbs the top rope but Britt smacks Rosa with a few chair shots. She throws a bunch of chairs down and nails an avalanche air raid crash.  She covers as Aubrey Edwards runs down to the ring. Rosa just kicks out. Britt assembles a chair construction and Rosa fights her off. They fight on the ropes and Britt falls right on top of her own creation. Rosa covers: 1-2-no!

Britt goes out and grabs thumb tacks. Rosa gets back body dropped onto them. Britt goes for a Lock Jaw, but Rosa bites Britt. She tries to transition over, but Rosa powerbombds her onto the tacks. She soon hits a Thunder Driver to secure the 1-2-3 and we have a new champion!
