Report: San Antonio Is The Current Front-Runner For WWE Royal Rumble 2023

WWE Royal Rumble is reportedly heading back to San Antonio.

The event is still several months away, but WWE is seemingly starting to plan its schedule for the beginning of 2023.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that the Alamodome in San Antonio is currently the front-runner to host the show. The Rumble was last held in the popular venue in 2017; it also hosted the 1997 edition. Ross Sapp noted that nothing is official until the venue and date are officially announced.

WWE continues to prioritize domes or stadiums for the Rumble; every edition since 2019 has been held in one or the other. In 2022, The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis Missouri hosted the event.

The Alamodome was the first dome WWE ran the Royal Rumble at, and it remained the only one for over 20 years.

Ross Sapp went on to report that both Seattle and New Orleans have expressed their interest in hosting the Royal Rumble.

WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
