WWE is still keeping fans waiting for an official announcement on the location of Survivor Series 2026. Now, a new report reveals that major plans for the landmark event have changed behind the scenes.
While the company is expected to reveal the host city soon, the road to that decision has reportedly taken a few unexpected turns.
The delay has drawn extra attention because this year’s Survivor Series will celebrate its 40th edition, making the choice of venue even more significant.
WWE Survivor Series 2026 host city plans reportedly changed
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE had explored hosting Survivor Series 2026 in an international location. However, those plans reportedly fell through in recent months. This leaves the company without a finalized destination for one of its biggest premium live events of the year.
The report also noted that Boston aggressively pursued the event, but negotiations eventually stalled over financial terms. That situation reportedly mirrored previous talks involving John Cena’s final match, which ultimately went to Washington, D.C., instead of Boston.
Arizona had also emerged as a potential destination after TKO reached a multi-year agreement with the Arizona Sports & Events Alliance. However, the alliance later clarified that there was no confirmation that Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, or Saturday Night’s Main Event were included in that arrangement, leaving the event’s location up in the air.
In recent years, Survivor Series has visited several major markets, including Chicago, Vancouver, and San Diego. With the event’s 40th anniversary approaching, WWE appears determined to find the right stage before ringing the opening bell on its announcement.
For now, the host city remains under wraps, but according to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE is expected to make an official announcement before SummerSlam, which takes place on Aug. 1 and 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Until then, fans will have to wait as the company continues searching for the right place to plant its flag.
