Fightful Select has released a new report today talking more about the promo Roman Reigns cut last night in Trenton, New Jersey. For those of you that missed it, Roman implied that his full-time WWE career may be ending sooner rather than later. Read more about that here.
Fightful indicated that WWE has Roman Reigns heavily factored into creative plans for the foreseeable future and he is not expected to leave anytime soon. Producers and executives within WWE said that nothing has hinted at Roman taking extended time off anytime soon.
WWE is under the impression that Roman landing movie roles and needing time off at some point is expected but not in the immediate future. One source told Fightful that WWE is making it a priority to accommodate and incentivize Roman to remain with the company as they’ve focused nearly all programming around him. WWE sees no end in sight for Roman Reigns as a full-time WWE Superstar.
Another source indicated that Roman’s comments could have something to do with taking on a lesser schedule, similar to other talent like Randy Orton. Less live events/house shows may eventually be something for Roman as he has already appeared at 25 house shows in the calendar year, putting him on pace to have well over 100 matches this year. Reigns has only wrestled 3 televised matches this year.
