Card Announced For NJPW Best of Super Juniors 29 Finals, Three Wrestlers Pulled From Event

New Japan Pro Wrestling concludes the 29th Best of Super Juniors tournament on Friday. Now that El Desperado & Hiromu Takahashi have been confirmed as this year’s finalists, the full card for Friday’s finals has been released, and is missing a few advertised talent.

Will Ospreay was originally scheduled to appear at the event, but has been recovering from a kidney infection that has caused him to pull out of numerous events. “Machine Gun” Karl Anderson was also scheduled to appear but received a positive PCR test. Finally Tanga Loa will also miss Friday’s show with a knee injury. There is no timetable for the return of any of the wrestlers.

Nonetheless a wild show is set for Friday morning. IWGP United States Champion Juice Robinson returns to Japan to take on Tomoaki Honma, United Empire’s Cobb & O-Khan return from their entertaining excursion to Las Vegas to take on Bullet Club.

There’s also a distinct possibility that fans in Nippon Budokan will be able to cheer for the first time since the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020. Many foreign talent have been urging fans to “use their voice” but no official announcement has been made as of press time.
