Matt Hardy Says Jeff Hardy Got ‘Knocked Loopy’ During AEW Double Or Nothing Match, Doesn’t Remember Part Of It

Matt Hardy shares more details about how Jeff Hardy is doing after AEW Double Or Nothing.

The latest episode of The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast saw Matt Hardy and co-host Jon Alba discussing the Hardys versus Young Bucks match at All Elite Wrestling’s latest pay-per-view. During the discussion, Alba said he would imagine that the match could set up some things for the future and Hardy replied that he was happy with the match, especially since Jeff was nearly knocked out at the beginning of it.

“I was happy with the match, especially considering very early on in the match, Jeff was almost knocked out. So he got hurt pretty bad,” Matt explained, “and that’s why he is being pulled from the match in Los Angeles actually. He was kinda running on fumes, going through the matches, so he held up his end of the bargain in pretty good in the big scheme of things.”

Alba said that it did appear that Jeff got knocked silly during the match and asked if they know when it happened. Matt explained that they aren’t completely sure, and added that Jeff doesn’t remember the match after a certain point.

“We have a couple of ideas but we’re not sure. He has no recollection, he doesn’t remember the match at all after that happened. So, thank God the Young Bucks are the Young Bucks and I’m me — he was literally a vessel being giving directions throughout this match to do what he was supposed to be. So considering he really got knocked loopy terribly at some point earlier in the match, he still did pretty good to go through and do everything he did,” Matt stated.

“It’s so funny because he’s such a great athlete and so good at what he does,” Matt said. “If you look at that Swanton he does, he does it perfectly. He didn’t even realize he was supposed to do it until he was told he was supposed to do it.”

Alba then noted that Jeff’s boot was coming off as well, and Matt said the buckle on the boot had snapped. He noted that Jeff had a rough night, and said that Adam Cole was also injured and pulled from the Los Angeles Dynamite match, chalking it all up to some streaks of bad luck.

It’s currently unclear how much time Jeff will miss from television. No other details about his status (or Cole’s) have been reported or confirmed by AEW other than they were pulled from a June 1 match due to injury.

Jeff Hardy and Adam Cole were both scheduled to compete in a ten-man tag team match at AEW Dynamite in Los Angeles. Both were pulled from the match and the new lineup saw The Young Bucks, reDRagon and Hikuleo face off with Jurassic Express, Christian Cage, Matt Hardy and Darby Allin.
