Alexa Bliss Details Recent Hiatus From WWE, Recovery From Nose Surgery

Alexa Bliss recently returned to the ring to much joy of the WWE Universe.

During her hiatus from in-ring action, Bliss got married to Ryan Cabrera and celebrated her honeymoon. However, the former RAW Women’s Champion also revealed that she underwent surgery to fix a broken nose.

Alexa had a match at WWE Extreme Rules in September of 2021, but she would only work one match at Elimination Chamber in February until returning on a regular basis on the May 9 episode of Monday Night RAW. In speaking with T95 The Rock Station, Alexa Bliss explained more about her recent time away from WWE, explaining how she recovered from surgery and used the time to plan her wedding.

“So for me, I had surgery. I had to get my nose all handled because after six broken noses, it finally collapsed. But then I took that time to plan my wedding and get married and my honeymoon. So it was definitely much needed after nine years in the company to have time to actually plan a wedding and do all the stuff because we’re on the road almost like 200 days a year, so we don’t get a lot of time to plan stuff. So it was nice to have that time for once and kind of take advantage of that.”

Alexa Bliss returned to RAW last month to face Sonya Deville, and has now most recently qualified for Money in the Bank. She will compete for the briefcase on July 2nd, in hopes of becoming a two-time Money in the Bank winner. Bliss also went on to describe her feelings on returning Monday Night RAW:

“Yeah, it’s a lot of fun. You know, I miss being in the ring and it was a little bit of time, but I’m back in, been doing pretty well, got a little winning streak going on and a lot of fun.”

Bliss recently posted a TikTok video about her recovery and said that recovery was tough, but worth it in the end because she was now free of breathing issues caused by the broken noses over the years.

“I’m almost 8 months out from my rhinoplastly, septoasty & valve reconstruction – all to be able to breathe for the first time in YEARS! Recovery wasn’t pretty- but totally worth it #greenscreen #nosesurgerycheck,” Bliss wrote.
